We were so excited to shoot this wedding at Thunder Bay’s newest wedding venue. I honestly walked in not knowing what to expect and was blown away at how beautiful the Chanterelle is. There are so many wonderful things to say about this space. I *almost* posted the pictures of the bathrooms – they were that beautiful. You can bet that I’ll be including those in Kristen and Anthony’s final gallery. I am so excited to go there again!
I’ve now gotten to know these two wonderful people after spending an entire day with them. They are so sweet to each other and Anthony’s humour didn’t disappoint. He even denied the bride her first kiss…until the best man spritzed his mouth with some mouth spray. Maybe it was a “you had to be there” moment, but trust me: it was funny. At any rate, Anthony had me laughing all day with his quiet demeanor and quick wit. And there were so many little touches to this wedding that made it truly unique to this couple. Kristen is a long-time vet from the Old Fort and so there were time-honoured traditions at the reception that had everyone standing and clapping and saluting along. From the muskett entrance to the bagpiper’s to the traditional dancing, this wedding was one for the books!
